What is Cornhole?

A game in which there are a slanted platform and players toss beanbags towards it. The main object is to pass the beanbag through the hole in the center of the platform. This was the meaning of Cornhole Game. It can also be known as a bean bag, sack toss, and bags and can be played on the lawn. Cornhole game rules are very important in order to play and win effectively.

Cornhole Set

  • 2 cornhole table
  • 2 set of bags (4 bags in each set)

On cornhole table, there will be a hole which should be of 6 inches. The surface of the cornhole table will be of 2 by 4 feet i.e. 0.61 by 1.22 m and 230 mm from the top.

There will be a different color of a set each consisting of 4 bags so in total 8 bags should be there in order to play this game. Size of these bags will be 6 by 6 inches i.e. 150 by 150 mm. The weight of the bag should be between 440 to 470 g.

Number of Cornhole player

There should be two to four players in order to play this game. All the players should be divided into two teams that means when there are 2 players playing this game so a single player will represent a team and when there are 4 players playing this game then two players will be there in a team, either of them will be representing the team.

Cornhole Rules and Regulation for beginner

  • There should be minimum two players playing this game and if there are 2 players in a single team then they have to take alternative turns to play this game whereas if there are 2 players playing this game will be competing with each other.
  • A distance should be maintained between the boards and that distance will be of 27 feet.
  • Each team will have a different color of the bag.
  • While playing this game one player should stand on the other side (end of the board) by this the teammates will be facing each other.
  • In order to decide which team will receive the first chance to play this game than one player from the teams have to throw a bag and then the team’s bag which was closer to the hole will get the first chance to play this game.
  • A bag on the board will be worth 1 point whereas the bag that enters in the hole will be worth 3 points.
  • The bag that is off from the board will not be counted.
  • There is a term known as “cancel out” in which a team scores 6 points and the other team scores 4 points then the team who scored more will receive the first turn in the next round with a score 2-0.
  • A team when scores 21 points will be the winner of the game.

Tips for Cornhole scoring

Points are allotted after the first round gets over:

  • 3 points will be given when the bag enters into the hole.
  • 1 point will be given when the thrown bag lands on the surface of the board.
  • 1 point will be given when the thrown bag neither enters into the hole nor is on the surface of the board i.e. hanging on the edge of the hole.
  • 1 point will be given when the thrown bag neither is on the surface of the board nor gets off the board or falls on the ground i.e. hanging on the edge of the surface of a board.
  • 0 point will be given when the thrown bag lands in such a way that it is partially on the surface of a board and partially on the ground.
  • 0 points will be given when the thrown bag is landed in such a way that it is hanging from the front edge which means almost it is touched to the ground.
  • Avoid 0 points and score highest during the game by referring to the cornhole rules.
