Description: Ever since I first climbed into the saddle as a child I have maintained a passion for horses, the industry and people associated with their care and training. As a child I worked pro bono at the local riding school in exchange for lessons and hacks on livery horses and as soon as I was able started to compete and develop my own skills. I became interested in Eventing and National Hunt Racing, eventually owning and competing my own horse in Point to Point racing.

With my wife (an international eventer) we now breed, produce and compete horses at International level from our yard in Buckinghamshire. .

Equestrian Industry Business Development and
Operational Consultancy

Career History
Ever since I first climbed into the saddle as a
child I have maintained a passion for horses,
the industry and people associated with their
care and training.
As a child I worked pro bono at the local
riding school in exchange for lessons and
hacks on livery horses and as soon as I was
able started to compete and develop my own
skills.
I became interested in Eventing and National
Hunt Racing, eventually owning and
competing my own horse in Point to Point
racing.
With my wife (an international eventer) we
now breed, produce and compete horses at
International level from our yard in
Buckinghamshire.

Career History
My professional career eventually took me
into military service, and thereafter into
commerce. I worked in a number of senior
roles in sales and marketing with some of the
UK's best known equestrian brands including
Weatherbeeta, Champion, And Toggi.
After a brief period back in military reserve
service I changed industries and decided to
utilise my full operational and commercial
skill set in starting my own business. Using
contacts and experience developed over the
previous 15 years I launched Atticus Risk, a
specialist Operational and Risk Management
Consultancy.

Career History
In 2010 I was invited to assist the British
Equestrian Federation in ensuring that the
equestrian community in London benefitted
fully from the "2012 Legacy".
By applying a range of commercial and
project management skills I was able to
leverage considerable state and public
support and channel substantial investment
(in excess of £9 million) and much goodwill
into the sport in the city.
Of equal value was the recognition made
that riding in all its various forms is both
inclusive and rewarding.

Career History
Over the following three years I led many
interventions into individual operations,
some of which are detailed in the submission
previously circulated.
In addition, with support from a network of
volunteers, we created the London Horse
Network, a business support body promoting
best practise and sharing advice in support of
wider goals in increasing participation.
I have worked closely with charitable groups
including the RDA and World Horse Welfare,
commercial centres and further education
groups project winning investment, project
managing facilities developments, growing
businesses and promoting the sport at a
community, regional and national level.
