The Semiconductor Review: July 2010 Update

 Jonathan Meyers
  20th-Jul-2010
Description: June 2010 did not exhibit friendship towards the semiconductor industry, reflecting a loss of nearly $35 billion in the aggregate valuation. Capital markets were slow again last month. One IPO was filed, one follow-on was transacted as a rights offering (TranSwitch), and one convertible debt offering (Xilinx) came to market. The only M&A transaction of size announced was Synopsys’ $315 million buy of Virage Logic – indicating a continuation of the dearth of new semiconductor investing.
