  10th-Feb-2015
Description: This Year’s Top Ten- Data center flash growth stays strong, NAND prices will crash in mid-2015, Controllers will grow to enable TLC in the enterprise, NAND-aware software will be absorbed into the O/S, Solid-State Hybrid drives will become mainstream, HDD form factors will start to fade away, Alternative memories a niche until 2021, PC SSDs will convert to PCIe/m.2, New technologies may stall flash production growth, Flash on the DRAM bus will gain serious momentum. Last Year’s Top Ten- Data center will account for growing share of flash GB, NAND price crash delayed, perhaps to 2017, TLC will gain important ground in the enterprise, NAND-aware software will keep sneaking into the O/S, PC SSD use will remain low, PCIe will displace HDD interfaces in PC and enterprise, Alternative memories a niche until 2021, Flash arrays will absorb processing functions, 3D & Hi-k transitions will stall flash production growth, Flash on the DRAM bus will continue solid growth.
