Description: In 1991, Douglas Coupland coined the term Generation X in his novel, “Generation X: Tales for an Accelerated Culture.” It referred to a group of people born in the early 1960s through the 1980s who exchanged “heartfelt stories about themselves and fantastical stories of their creation.” 1 The book grew in popularity, and thus began the movement of classifying people into age brackets by generations.
