Description: Most image and video processing algorithms that are developed in research environments never end up in products. One major reason for this lack of transition is that the algorithms are not designed to meet real-time constraints of products. Algorithm developers do not normally get involved in actual implementation of their algorithms. Common Misconception Real-time constraints can be met simply by using faster, more powerful hardware, i.e. real-time is a non-issue!
