UKCloud extends its relationship with Moogsoft to enable UK public sector organisations to harness artificial intelligence to drive scalable IT operations across public cloud, private cloud and non-cloud environments.

London – 12th June 2019 - UKCloud, the multi-cloud experts dedicated to making transformation happen across UK public sector, has today announced that it is making the Moogsoft AIOps platform available to all UK public sector organisations to drive intelligent operations in a multi-cloud environment. UKCloud has itself recognised enormous operational benefits through implementing Moogsoft’s pioneering and leading AIOps solutions that has enabled UKCloud engineers to work faster and smarter.

Analysts such as Gartner report that up-to 80% of an organisation’s IT resources are focused on IT operations. At the same time, IT environments are becoming increasingly complex as organisations adopt multiple cloud-based services, from IaaS through to SaaS, whilst maintaining existing environments on-premises or in traditional datacentres. Hence, mapping an incident to a logical or physical component is difficult, time consuming and typically makes demands of disparate IT teams working on silo-ed monitoring and management systems – protracting incident resolution and jeopardising SLAs.

UKCloud was not immune to this challenge. As its multi-cloud platform continued to scale into new zones and regions, and additional cloud services were introduced, it became increasingly difficult to scale the operations team and deliver the levels of service that customers had come to expect. The introduction of Moogsoft AIOps enables UKCloud to gain a significant reduction in operational ‘noise’ as Moogsoft gives context and correlates alerts from disparate monitoring systems. This gives a much quicker time to resolution by exposing the root cause of an issue.

‘‘Moogsoft has transformed two key areas for us as a business. Firstly, we are able to proactively understand alerts which may have a future impact on our infrastructure as Moogsoft intelligently correlates data from the various monitoring systems we implement across our stack. We can quickly understand when a situation is changing or may cause service impact moving forward. Secondly, we’ve been able to consolidate from multiple monitoring screens down to a single pane of glass. As a result, our NOC engineers no longer have to manually correlate between disparate alerts on different systems’’ said UKCloud’s Chief Operating Officer, Karsten Smet.

UKCloud is committed to identifying the right tools and services to help customers with evolving their IT operations to cope with the challenges of digital transformation. Based on the significant benefits realised internally, UKCloud has extended their partnership with Moogsoft to make AIOps available across the UK public sector. With patented AI analysing billions of events daily across the most complex IT environments, Moogsoft AIOps from UKCloud can help UK public sector organisations avoid IT outages, automate service assurance, and accelerate their digital transformation initiatives.

UKCloud customers will now be able to see the operational benefits of bringing all their monitoring feeds into a single tool, no matter where the workloads are, or what network they are connected to. Moogsoft with UKCloud allows you to monitor and manage your workloads that are available on the internet (even those with other cloud providers) as well as those systems currently hosted in community network connected data centres and everything in between. UKCloud are also delighted to offer this capability up to support management of data classifications up to SECRET.

Moogsoft has other tools to further augment its capabilities, including auto-ticketing, a contextual knowledge base and “ChatOps” functionality to automate scripts and tasks in the context of the team discussion.

Driven by these innovative capabilities, the market for AIOps is growing rapidly. Organisations spent $2.6 billion on AIOps platforms in 2018, a 25 percent growth over 2017, and all indications are that growth is likely to accelerate in 2019 with Gartner predicting that use of AIOps and digital experience monitoring tools for applications and infrastructure will rise from 5% in 2018 to 30% in 2023. UKCloud and Moogsoft are focused on driving this adoption across the UK public sector.

"Moogsoft applies our unique patented AIOps platform to meet the competing demands the digital world makes on DevOps teams: to increase the frequency of change while simultaneously improving customer experience and reducing operations costs. We call it 'Continuous Assurance'. We're proud that our customer and partnership relationship with UKCloud not only gives their Ops experts a better quality of life, but also helps provide customers with the best quality of service in the industry. Our differentiation is sustaining the rate of change that continuous integration / continuous deployment demands of DevOps environments.” said Moogsoft co-founder, Mike Silvey.
