Hirose DF57 Series Delivers 2A Per Contact in Compact Package

 Zac Linton
Hirose, a leader in the development of
connector solutions, has developed a 1.27mm pitch, low-profile, swing-lock,
wire-to-board connector for power supply applications. Designated the DF57
Series, the connector has a height of just 1.4mm and a footprint of 18mm2 or
23mm2 for the 2- and 3-position versions, respectively. These small size
and high-performance connectors are ideal for power applications used in LED
displays, touch panels, small motors, industrial robots, and other devices
that require higher power requirements.

"The DF57 provides a secure connection and significant current rating of 2A
per contact for applications with tight space constraints," said Rick van
Weezel, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Hirose Electric USA.

The DF57 provides a reliable and secure connection with its unique
swing-lock, double-locking mechanism. Two locks--positive lock and friction
lock--are provided in this small connector. The positive lock prevents
accidental socket removal caused by cable pull while the friction lock
prevents the socket from floating after mating.

The DF57 also features solder-wicking prevention and high contact lance
strength, and is RoHS compliant.

The connector range is available in 2 and 3 positions and a 4-position is
currently in development. They accept AWG 28-30 wire sizes. Pricing and lead
times are available upon request. For additional information about the DF57
Series connector, please visit: www.hiroseusa.com
