VLSI Research says results just in for the month of July continued to show signs of a strong recovery in the semiconductor industry. Semiconductor Book-to-Bill hit 1.29 in July; it’s highest level since July of 2008. Integrated Circuit orders were up over June, reaching $B. These were almost double levels seen at February’s bottom. Sales rose over June to reach $B. July chip factory utilization levels were % for the front end, % for test, and % for assembly.
