Killoran, who won the Intel International Science Fair for his project, Semantic Image Retrieval: Learning Gaussian Mixture Models of Semantic Concepts Using Expectation-Maximization and his project to develop a new image search engine technology. He also just took second place in the coveted Intel Science Talent Search. They discuss how he started it and what inspired him, how it started with just trying to sort his home photo collection.
