Summary

Order activity picked up somewhat last week. All customer sectors improved except for Memory and SOC Digital. However, the overall climate remains foggy because of economic uncertainties. The positive is that chip pricing is stabilizing, but it will take a while before this translates into consistent capacity buys. VLSI Research Inc's CPPI spot-market IC pricing index continued to firm, ending the week with no change.
