Summary: Our guest, Mike Noonen, executive vice president of marketing and sales at GLOBALFOUNDRIES turns the table on Dan to ask the questions. We're switching things up to get his perspective on GLOBALFOUNDRIES' new 14nm-XM technology and its importance to the semiconductor ecosystem. We look into the benefits of FinFET technology and how it will enable the semiconductor industry to meet the demands of electronics, smartphones, tablets, PCs and more. Today’s markets are all about lowering power and the industry came a long ways with High-K Metal Gate (HKMG). But something new is needed and FinFET takes power to a new level. We also discuss what designers think about these transistors and how they see the technology.
