Photovoltaic equipment has another strong year in store for 2011. Sales growth is expected to grow 24%, driving sales to in excess of $12B according to the latest forecast from VLSIresearch. The fastest growth segments will be MOCVD, LPCVD, PECVD, and Laser Etch. Looking back, 2010 was a record year for PV Manufacturing Equipment, beating the previous peak reached in 2008. Most of the growth in equipment was driven by high levels of shipments for crystalline silicon solar cells.
