Any woman wants to look and feel great at every age. Unlike men, the woman’s body and structure calls for special health regimes. For this reason, it is important to make smart health choices. Here are a few tips to good health for women throughout their lifetime.

1. Eat Clean

The importance of eating a healthy diet can never be over emphasized. Women should eat more natural foods as much as possible. This includes; lean meat and fish, fruits and vegetables that are high in fiber, and whole grains. Also, include low-fat dairy products in your diet as well. However, this does not mean that you forgo your favorite piece of cake or glass of wine. The most crucial factor to a proper diet is moderation. The more processed food you eat the more chances you have of suffering from obesity-related conditions. Eating clean will ensure you maintain a healthy weight that is in accordance with your height.

2. Exercise Regularly

Lack of exercise is a major reason women suffer heart disease. Cardiovascular disease is a leading cause of death among women globally. Adopt a healthy lifestyle to keep your heart hale and hearty and in good working condition. To ensure this, engage in at least 30 minutes workout, five days a week. You can take brisk walks, morning jogs, biking, swimming, or a dance class for your health. Exercising also helps to build strength, maintain flexibility, and promote good self-image that is important to any woman.

3. Manage Stress

Women deal with a lot of pressure and stress regardless of the stage they are at in life. Most women have too many responsibilities from being a mother, a wife, and a career woman. They try to juggle it all up and may end up stressed at the end of the day. Stress causes a myriad of health conditions ranging from infertility, heart disease, anxiety, and depression. It is important for women to take a few minutes from their day to rest and relax their bodies and mind. Mental health is crucial to a woman’s health. There are various activities women can take on to relieve stress, and they include exercise, yoga, relaxation techniques, and meditation. Women can also treat themselves to a good massage, go on a trip, or engage in hobbies.

4. Avoid Harmful Babits

Habits such as cigarette smoking, heavy drinking, and use of drugs are very detrimental to a woman's health. Women who indulge in these practices are prone to various diseases.

5. Sunbathe Safely

Although sunlight is good for your skin, too much of it may be bad for your health. Women should invest in sunscreen that has sun protection factor(SPH) that is not less than 15 especially if they plan on staying outdoors for a while. Too much exposure to direct sun’s rays can cause skin cancer- a very deadly condition. Even with sunscreen, it is important to check for signs of skin cancer now and then. Additionally, too much sun triggers skin-aging symptoms like fine lines and wrinkles.

6. Medical Check-ups

Medical checkups are imperative for a woman’s health. They help identify issues before they get out of hand. Make sure to get checked for cervical and breast cancer. Breast cancer is a serious condition. Conduct self-checks on your breast for any changes and report to your health professional in case of any concerns. Women over 40 years of age are advised to get yearly mammograms to check for any signs of breast cancer. In case you are sexually active, get tested for STDs such as syphilis, gonorrhea, and chlamydia yearly. Ensure you take an HIV test yearly or more if you feel you are at risk.

7. Sleep More

Restful sleep is crucial to a woman’s health. Ensure that you sleep at least 6-8 hours every day for optimal health. Sleep is good for resting your body and reenergizing it for the next day. In addition, restful sleep will ensure your brain functions well. Sleep is also a great mood booster.

8. Invest In High Quality and Safe Cosmetics

Did you know that some cheap beauty products contain carcinogens and endocrine-disrupting chemicals that have a tendency of increasing the risk of breast cancer? Ensure that you use fewer cosmetics and those that are safe for use.

9. Have a Healthy Sex Life

Practicing safe sex is a great way to boost a woman’s overall health. Some of the health benefits include; less stress, better sleep, fewer bouts of colds, a youthful glow and a more toned body. Other than using the best heating pad, sex is a great way to relieve menstrual cramps. Moreover, sex can help improve your heart health.

A woman’s health needs to keep changing as she ages. However, it takes a few adjustments to a woman’s daily routine to boost their health and happiness for a lifetime. Women should be able to embrace and maintain healthy lifestyles.
