  • Eravikulam National park: The Eravikulam National Park is a sanctuary which is located in Munnar to protect the endangered Nilgiri Tahr. This National Park is located at 16 km (Munnar) and widespread over an area of 97 km (RajaMali). After the Nilgiri Tahr, Neelakurinji flowers are the second major attraction of this park because this flower blooms once after every 12 years. This place is surrounded by a variety of flora and fauna and this is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Here, you can spot many animals like elephant, Nilgiri langur, Nilgiri marten, leopard, lion-tailed macaque, a rare tiger and many more species. The entry fee of the park is Rs.65/-. The park remains closed from February to March nearly 30-45 days. The park opens every day at 7 a.m and the closing time is 6 p.m in the evening. No tourist is allowed after a certain area due to security reasons.

  • Mattupetti Dam: This place is situated 13 km away from Munnar at 1700 m above the sea level. This place is popular for Indo-Swiss livestock projects. This is also a well-known picnic spot for the visitors. You can explore this place by doing some intriguing activities like speed boating, horse riding, etc. Boating facilities will provide the visitors with an amazing experience and elephants are often see here in Munnar. The dam opens from 9 AM to 5 PM on all the seven days of the week. The fee is Rs. 400 per person for a 15-minute ride.

  • Top Station: The Top station is situated 32 KM off Munnar and it is the topmost point of Munnar. Though the drive to the top station is pretty long, still it is beautiful. On the way, you can see two tea gardens and two dams. Kurinjimala sanctuary is very near to Top station and is best visited from April to May.
