LMS

The user-base of most LMS software is disheartening because not many businesses are aware of the various benefits of eLearning management systems.

Although over 77% of U.S. companies use some form of online learning systems, an average employee can devote only 1% of their work schedule to professional development; proving how inefficient the professional environment is.

The purpose of LMS software is to improve ongoing business practices by educating employees about new strategies and better methods to enhance productivity and profits significantly. However, it is easier said than done.

Read ahead to learn about some reasons why most LMS software programs have a poor user-base:

Awareness

As already mentioned above, not many companies are aware of the benefits of LMS software. The lack of knowledge is one of the most common reasons why LMS software programs fail to build a significant user-base. You may be wondering how you can penetrate the market with your eLearning tools, right? Niche-specific LMS PPC campaigns are considered a perfect way to reach a larger target audience because, in simple terms, it can be described as offering business owners exactly what they are looking for.

Availability

Although eLearning management systems are available across the globe, the appropriate time is not allocated to professional development in most parts of the world. Availability of time is a severe concern and a significant reason for a poor user-base. Organizations need to value the benefits of LMS, i.e., teaching their employees to improve their productivity notably. You can employ traditional training methods; however, eLearning tools can decrease your training by 60% and increase your revenue by 26%; way higher than traditional methods.

Dedication

It is believed that video traffic will amount to over 80% of total internet traffic in the world by the year 2019. eLearning management systems can ensure promising results if they are utilized carefully, i.e., dedication towards LMS is essential to achieve desirable results. Most organizations lack the zeal required to make the most of the LMS software, which reflect poorly in their productivity and revenue. When an organization is doubtful about the LMS software, then their employees will not be enthusiastic either. Lack of dedication causes severe fluctuations in LMS user-base around the world.

Efficiency

Even though the expectations from an LMS software are promising, the results are not always as anticipated. When an organization invests its time and money in an LMS software, they expect their employees and practices to improve significantly. However, nothing is perfect. So, when they fail to notice those outcomes, they quit. As already mentioned above, over 77% of U.S. companies use eLearning tools; still, it is believed that the user-base is poor because of the quitters. So, it can be inferred that due to the many inefficient LMS software and lack of commitment from many employees & organizations, the entire industry is suffering adversely.

Fear

The fear of uncertainty can also be blamed for the poor user-base of most LMS software. Many people are hesitant to devote a significant amount of time and money to new learning methods, which is responsible for fewer people to use LMS software. Although the statistics are in favour of the LMS industry, not every business owner desires to believe in them and take action.

Will Vs. ability

Do you think all organizations have what it takes to employ LMS efficiently and enhance the skills of their employees? It is a hard truth to accept that some companies lack the right resources to make the most of an LMS program. The efficiency of an LMS software is restricted to the will of the senior management to incorporate it within the organization and the abilities of the employees to learn from it. As already mentioned above, the inefficient outcomes are responsible for the decreasing appeal of LMS in training programs.

Acceptance to change

This may be the most underlooked reason for a poor user-base of LMS software; however, it may be in the top three of the most prevalent ones. Acceptance to change leads many parts of our lives, and similarly, an LMS software is a modern approach to training the employees, which may not be as well accepted as it supposed to be. Yes, the advantages of LMS are unbelievable, but to experience those benefits, one needs to accept them with open arms. How can an LMS software have a significant user-base when many companies are still interested in traditional employee training methods? The awareness aspect can change their perception about LMS, and then, the eLearning industry may be able to see promising results.

Conclusion

It is not rocket science to identify the pain-points in an organization, i.e., inefficient practices, un-dedicated employees or irrelevant strategies; however, improving them is a challenging task. An LMS software enables a business to make those changes by observing the market trends, every business practice & strategy, and employee performances. The need for an LMS software in every organization is evident, so is the lack of acceptance of most LMS software. The fact that old is not always better and experiment is the key to change should encourage you to employ LMS software and improve the productivity of your employees and your business strategies notably. If you are too afraid to experiment a new training method because you cannot risk your limited budget to it, then it is advisable to go slow, i.e., start with a small team and gradually incorporate it in the entire organization.
