Veterinary Pharma: Following Human Pharmaceutical Markets to Generics

 Jean Hoffman
  25th-Jan-2010
Description: Americans spent $41.2 billion on pet care in 2007, up 6% from 2006. It is the second fastest growing retail category after consumer electronics. Spending on veterinary care increased 40% between 2002 and 2007. Cats and dogs treated as members of the family, living indoors and often sleeping in their owners beds or on the furniture. Strong human-animal bond supports increasing expenditures on care for the pets.
