Indolent Non-Hodgkin's Lymphomas: Issues in Clinical Practice

 Michael L. Grossbard, MD
  29th-Jan-2010
Description: There were 65,980 new cases of Non-Hodgkin's Lymphomas in U.S. in 2009, and 19,500 deaths from NHL in 2009. 30-40% of cases of NHL are “low grade” or “indolent”; 22% follicular. The median survival historically is 7-9 years; with new therapies alter survival (12-14 yrs). Little is known about etiology for indolent NHL. Increased incidence in autoimmune disease including Sjogren’s, Hashimoto’s, RA. Treatments and new approaches are examined.
