Description: Gout is a Rheumatic disease characterized by deposition of monosodium uratecrystals in synovial fluid of a joint or in soft tissue (tophi). It is most common form of inflammatory arthritis and results in recurrent episodes of acute joint pain. Gout is a poorly managed disease, accurate diagnosis is not pursued, absence of evidence based guidelines, inadequate patient education, lack of focus on treatment goal, poor adherence to therapy.
